Everything the Rain Touched

Cassie & Harrison · July 18, 2026 · Private Residence, East Hampton, NY

Cassie and Harrison celebrated their wedding at the groom’s uncle’s historic home in East Hampton. Through passing summer downpours, heartfelt vows, and the joyful presence of their two dachshunds, the day felt deeply personal and full of life.

A Home Filled With History

Cassie and Harrison’s wedding took place at the groom’s uncle’s home in East Hampton, a beautiful historic house filled with carefully collected works of art. The ceremony and reception were held in the backyard, surrounded by a place that already carried years of family memories.

There was something especially meaningful about beginning their marriage there. It was not simply a beautiful setting chosen for a wedding. It was part of Harrison’s family and part of a history they would now continue together.

Their East Hampton backyard wedding in New York began beneath bright summer skies. Cassie was elegant and quietly composed, while Harrison paid close attention to every detail. Throughout the day, the way he looked at her made his feelings impossible to miss.

When the Rain Arrived

Shortly after their first look, the rain began.

It came and went throughout the day, sometimes softly and sometimes in sudden, heavy downpours. Rain struck the ceremony and reception tents, turning the lawn beneath them into soft mud.

Through it all, Floraland’s flowers remained standing—fresh, vivid, and somehow even more beautiful beneath the rain.

Water found its way through the tent and landed on Harrison’s suit and Cassie’s slender shoulders. No one seemed eager to escape it. The rain became part of the ceremony, surrounding every word and emotion with its steady summer sound.

Two Small Ring Bearers

Cassie and Harrison’s two dachshunds were an important part of the day. During the ceremony, they carried the rings down the aisle, bringing laughter and warmth to an already emotional moment.

Harrison cried several times throughout the wedding. During the ceremony, he and Cassie seemed to speak to each other simply through the way they looked at one another.

That is the image I remember most clearly: the rain falling around them while their eyes remained completely fixed on each other.

A Celebration Full of Life

The reception was relaxed, lively, and filled with sincere affection from family and friends. The best man and maid of honor gave speeches that moved easily between humor and emotion, while the older generations offered their blessings with unmistakable warmth.

Cassie’s bridesmaids brought an open and joyful energy to the photographs. They were playful in front of the camera and fully themselves. When the dancing began, they carried that same spirit onto the dance floor.

By then, the lawn was soaked and the rain had touched nearly every part of the celebration. But it never took anything away from the day.

Instead, it seemed to draw everyone closer. The flowers, the laughter, the tears, and the love surrounding Cassie and Harrison all felt steeped in the same summer rain.
