A Quiet Afternoon by the Water
Amy & Luran · 09.29.2025 · Long Island City Waterfront, New York
A simple walk along the Long Island City waterfront—Amy and Luran, relaxed, present, and fully themselves.
The light along the Long Island City waterfront has a way of slowing things down. The river holds a quiet surface, and the skyline, just across from it, feels close but distant at the same time.
Amy and Luran arrived as themselves—no formal styling, no performance. Just the way they are in their own lives. Both of them, thoughtful, composed, and quietly close. There was a kind of ease between them that didn’t need to be explained. We walked along the path together, stopping when something felt right, moving on when it didn’t.
At first, there was a trace of awareness—of the camera, of being seen. But it didn’t last long. Their attention returned to each other, and the space around them softened. The gestures became smaller, more natural. A glance, a pause, a shared step. Nothing asked to be arranged.
Somewhere along the way, Luran showed the ring he had prepared for Amy. It was an origami piece—delicate, intentional, almost unexpected. It didn’t try to impress. It felt personal, something made rather than chosen. It stayed in the moment the same way everything else did—quietly.
They’ll be married next year. But this afternoon didn’t feel like a prelude. It stood on its own, complete in its simplicity—two people, walking side by side, with the city unfolding gently around them.
