A Day of Joy in Manhattan New York
Alyssa & William · 07.05.2025 · St. Ignatius Loyola Church, New York City / Central Park Boathouse
A joyful New York City wedding for Alyssa and William, beginning at the iconic St. Ignatius Loyola Church and ending with celebration at the Central Park Boathouse. From lively morning preparations to heartfelt family moments and a dance floor full of laughter, the day was filled with warmth, elegance, and effortless love.
The day began at the Lotte New York Palace, where Alyssa and her bridesmaids were getting ready together.
The room was full of laughter from the very beginning. The bridesmaids were lively and playful—at one point they even climbed onto the table and started dancing together. Alyssa fit right into the joyful chaos. She is effortlessly beautiful, but what people notice first is her personality: bright, warm, and a little mischievous in the best way.
After William finished getting ready with his groomsmen, we stepped out onto the streets of Manhattan. Instead of traveling by car, we walked to the subway station and took the train to the ceremony. The groomsmen, tall and sharply dressed in their suits, drew plenty of attention as we walked through the city. People couldn’t help but turn their heads.
The ceremony took place at St. Ignatius Loyola Church on the Upper East Side.
Inside, the church feels timeless—high vaulted ceilings, ornate stone arches, and soft light filtering through the stained glass. The atmosphere carries a quiet gravity that has witnessed generations of vows. Against this grand and classical setting, Alyssa and William looked both elegant and deeply present in the moment.
After the ceremony, we stepped outside and hailed one of New York’s iconic yellow taxis and headed toward Central Park.
At the Central Park Boathouse, we spent time taking portraits along the lake and tree-lined paths. What stood out most was how natural everything felt. Alyssa and William didn’t need direction for how to interact with each other. My role was simply to place them in the right light and the right place—the expressions, laughter, and small gestures came entirely from them.
By the time the reception began at the Boathouse, the evening had settled into that warm summer glow that New York does so well.
Throughout the night, it was clear how close Alyssa and William are—not only with each other but with their families. Their parents gave touching speeches, speaking about the joy of seeing two families come together as one.
One small detail captured the spirit of the couple perfectly.
They have a beloved dog who couldn’t attend the wedding, so they placed a small sculpture of their dog beside the cake—complete with a tiny bite mark in the frosting, as if their dog had already helped himself. It was a playful and deeply personal touch that made everyone smile.
When the dancing began, the room came fully alive.
Alyssa especially embraced the celebration. She danced with everyone—friends, relatives, and especially the children running across the floor. With a drink in hand and laughter everywhere, she moved through the room hugging guests and celebrating every moment.
Before I left for the night, Alyssa gave me a big hug and thanked me for photographing both their engagement session and their wedding.
But honestly, I felt the gratitude more deeply on my side. Being invited to witness a day like this—to photograph people who carry so much joy and warmth—is always a privilege.
