“They’re just so sweet.”
That was the very first thing Alice, our videographer, and I said to each other after Jason and Max’s wedding weekend. It wasn’t something dramatic or loud — just an immediate, shared understanding of who they are together.
Jason is the kind of person who notices everything. He cares deeply about details and wants things to feel just right. Max, on the other hand, carries a steady, quiet kindness — calm and grounding in a way that instantly puts people at ease. Together, they balance each other effortlessly, each bringing something essential to the other.
Their wedding took place at the Stone House in New Jersey, a space that feels both refined and welcoming. Spring light filtered softly through the rooms, setting the tone for a day that never felt rushed or performative. Everything unfolded naturally, guided by intention rather than expectation.
During cocktail hour, Max and a few close friends surprised Jason with a small a cappella performance. As soon as Max began to sing, something in him shifted — he lit up completely. Watching Jason’s face in that moment, you could almost see that unmistakable “first love” feeling return, as if time briefly folded in on itself.
And then there were their parents.
The way they looked at their sons — proud, full of love — said everything without a single word spoken. It was a quiet, steady kind of emotion that didn’t ask for attention, but lingered deeply. As a father myself, it was impossible not to recognize and feel that kind of love — the kind that lives beneath the surface, constant and unshakable.
After the wedding, I received a handwritten card from Jason and Max. Inside were small memories from our time working together — thoughtful, specific, deeply personal. I smiled as I closed it. Moments like that are gentle reminders of why I feel so lucky to do what I do, and to witness days like this one.
